EPIC is currently seeking a team of professionals to implement a Rapid Response Team for adults in St. Johns County, FL. The Team will provide high quality de-escalation, assessment, counseling, care coordination, and peer recovery services to adults in need of immediate mental health and/or substance use community services.
This position will be On-Call Friday 5pm to Monday 8am to respond to adults in need of immediate mental health services through the 988 system.
What you will do:
As a Licensed Clinician on the Rapid Response Team you will respond to intervention calls to assess and evaluate the adult in need of immediate services and develop a comprehensive client action plan based on the initial assessment. You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing and treatment planning activities.
This is a full-time On-call position and includes the following responsibilities:
- Responds to intervention calls in a timely manner to assess and evaluate the adult in need of immediate mental health and/or substance use services.
- Provides therapeutic insight, immediate de-escalation and continued stabilization assistance as needed, while ensuring the adult’s dignity is maintained and her or his best interests are accommodated.
- Develops and implements a comprehensive client action plan based on the initial assessment and evaluation of the adult, explicitly evaluating the risk of immediate danger. Involves client and family in treatment planning and decision making as appropriate.
- Works collaboratively with a variety of community resource providers, including local detoxification units, crisis stabilization units, law enforcement agencies, and local hospital systems.
- Ensures appropriate follow-up care is initiated and delivered to the client through collaboration with the Care Coordinator on the Rapid Response Team, through EPIC’s Access Support Center, and/or via phone with the family members.
- Provides basic training on adult behavioral health issues, crisis prevention and verbal de-escalation techniques, as well as Baker Act/Marchman Act criteria and procedures to interested community stakeholders, family members, and other providers of adult services.
- As a member of the Rapid Response Team, receives crisis response phone calls after regular business hours Friday 5pm through Monday 8am and will be required to arrive to provided location within one hour of receiving the call.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A current Florida LCSW, LMHC or LMFT required. A Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy disciplines, or Psychology.
- Two (2) years’ experience in providing therapeutic mental health and/or substance use services to adults.
- Experience in effective assessment, de-escalation strategies, and clinical and behavioral management of adults.
- Reliable transportation and current valid driver’s license in the State of Florida
- Successful completion of Level 2 background screen and drug screen.
